Answered: Perfect Privacy Leaks IPv6 Addresses

What sold me on signing up for a subscription with Perfect Privacy was the fact that they claim to fully support IPv6, and that they actively protect IPv6 traffic from leaks:

However, I'm disappointed to report this does not seem to be true. Currently, Perfect Privacy VPN leaks IPv6 addresses (I used the website "Test your IPv6" in order to test for leaks: http://test-ipv6.com/ ):

And, as you can see, I have the IPv6 leak protection enabled in the options menu:

Hopefully, the developers can fix this. I was really sold on the claim that you fully support IPv6. It is my first day of using this service, and already I am disappointed.

I guess the reason will be that you are using a secondary Firewall on your PC right?

PP is using the standard windows firewall settings. that means if you are using another optional firewall software which will prevent from setting up new rules to your windiows built in firewall it wont work out.

you have to switch off the other firewall (kaspersky etc..)
reset windows firewall to standard
start PP manager

otherwise the PP manager can not write firewall settings to your windows firewall!

I am positive that it is my ISP's IP address that is being listed for two reasons:

1. The IP address is being provided by AT&T Residential services (you can literally see this in the screenshot I provided). AT&T is my ISP.

2. No need to use the check IP website you provided me. I found the IP address in the Command Prompt using "ipconfig /all"

In conclusion, it's clear that Perfect Privacy is leaking IPv6 address traffic.

The Perfect Privacy VPN client prevents exactly that. If that is not the case for you, this can have several reasons, often related to third party security software. We can troubleshoot this issue with you if you contact us via email support.

Yeah, I figured as much. That's why I sent your support staff an email yesterday. I sent a response this afternoon, I'll see what comes of it.
