Cannot Connect To Any Server "Connection Failed retrying in a few seconds"

Yesterday (2025-08-30) I found that I couldn’t connect to any PP server on my Windows 11 PC, no matter what I tried.

I rebooted and then retried (many times), but nothing worked.

I still cannot connect today (2025-09-01)

All was working fine upto 2025-08-30.

The attached screen capture has the same message, no matter what server I try.

I have tried a few servers on my Android device (just to check my account credentials are ok) and connection is ok.

Can you help please

This problem is global right now. We've not yet received word from PP staff on what the problem is, what they're doing to mitigate or fix it, or what the ETA is for a solution.

Same here, except in my case the error is AUTH_FAILED, but only on my PC (Linux using OpenVPN, not Android).

I'll try updating the configs, as maybe the certs have changed.

Also, I can only access the website about 1 in 10 times (including this forum). The rest of the time I get a timeout error. I suspect there's a DDoS in progress.

Updated configs and now working again.
Yeah, same here. It's back up and working now.

Hopefully they'll make an official post soon about why they went incommunicado for a bit.

For reference, especially since many German-language users still have difficulties with OpenVPN and/or stunnel, I'm using OpenVPN and stunnel over the New York node.

Hi folks,

Many thanks for your comments - it is driving me bonkers.

Sorry to ask a silly question but how do you update the configs please, as I'll give this a try?
If you're using the Perfect Privacy client software, there's a "refresh server list" function within the client (all platforms). I believe it also checks for and automatically applies updates every launch. I rarely use this, so please check.

In my case, I'm using OpenVPN, so I need to update configs manually. They're in the "Download & Setup" section of the website.
